Your radio commercial should help get you used to writing scripts,
adjusting your script when performed, and integrating sound effects and
music with spoken tracks. Please think of your commercial as a
test run and learning opportunity for your larger project. Your
commercial should be well done, but save some creative energy for your
documentary!
Requirements
Your radio should have each of the following characteristics and
requirements:
A clear message with easy to understand action items for your
listeners.
An effective persuasive strategy.
A length of 30 OR 60
seconds.
Pick one (most commercial spots are 30 second or 60 second spots).
Some sound effect or music track -- or both.
It must be tasteful.
Better to have a solid, uncontroversial commercial than to try
for funny (or what have you) and fail.
A little excitement in your voice!
You can use an existing commercial campaign. Remember the Real Men of Genius
radio spots and Free
Credit Report.com commercials or another of your favorites.
(Note that the first borderlines good taste. Check with your
instructor if you have any uncertainty.)
Delivery
You'll probably want to either save your Audacity project and cut and
paste your final commercial into your documentary project or export it
as a .wav file to import into Audacity later.
